Wellcome Library

The Wellcome Library http://wellcomecollection.org/ is one of the world's major resources for the study of medical history. It houses 2.5 million items of extraordinary range and diversity and has a growing collection of material relating to contemporary medicine and biomedical science in society.

The Library is situated within the Wellcome Collection on Euston Road, London, the free visitor destination for the incurably curious and is part of the Wellcome Trust, a global charitable foundation dedicated to achieving extraordinary improvements in human and animal health. Full details on the Library's location, opening hours and details of how to join and pre-book library visits are all available online.

We encourage all students on the History of Medicine course to make use of the Wellcome’s resources. During the course information will be provided on the Library's collections, particularly its rich archival holdings and its online collections that are accessible remotely.
