This is a private visit to St Mary’s Church, officially Our Immaculate Lady of Victories, a Grade II-listed Roman Catholic church in Clapham, South London and a visit to the attached monastery and the Ace of Clubs (a charity for the socially deprived and homeless), followed by an informal lunch in the monastery gardens. The monastery and gardens are not normally open to members of the public.

The church is located on the corner of Clapham Park Road, less than a two-minute walk from Clapham Common tube station or ten-minutes’ walk from Clapham High Street overground station. Several buses also stop nearby: 137, 155, 345, 37 50 and 88. Parking is limited to metered bays in adjoining St. Alphonsus Road or in Sainsbury’s, a short walk away, although there may be parking for two or three vehicles in the monastery grounds by special arrangement.

We will meet at 11.15 for 11.30am in the church courtyard and be guided throughout our visit. It is anticipated that we will finish between 1.30 and 2pm. We will visit the beautiful St. Mary’s Church and learn of its history and the monastery, including seeing the private chapel where monks have celebrated mass for over a 100-years.

The cost of the event is £40 which includes lunch and a small donation to the church. Additional voluntary donations to the church or Ace of Clubs are discretionary. This is a rare opportunity to visit the monastery and its chapels and gardens. Numbers are limited to fifteen and early expressions of interest are invited; places will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
