The lecture commemorated John Keats (1795-1821) who was a student at Guy’s and qualified at the Hall in 1816. The lecture was established in 1969 when the Royal College of Surgeons of England also co-hosted the Lecture series (http://www.kcl.ac.uk/innovation/groups/chh/eventrecords/Keats.aspx).
