Livery Committee: Visit to the Tower Lifeboat Station

The number of places is limited to 25 and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.  Please feel free to invite one or more guests.

The Tower RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Association), on the north embankment of the Thames to the east of Waterloo Bridge, is the busiest lifeboat station in the British Isles.  Our group will assemble at the top of the ramp for an 11am start.  The visit will include an illustrated talk about the RNLI in general and Tower Lifeboat Station (TLS) in particular, followed by a tour of the station conducted by some of the crew, viewing of the boats and concluding with a Q&A session about the TLS and RNLI.  The RNLI would like visitors to be aware that the presentation includes recordings of real life incidents.  Unfortunately there is no disabled access to the station and the visit is not suitable for those with impaired mobility.  The nearest underground stations are Embankment and Temple.  Lunch at a nearby restaurant is planned to follow the visit.

Refunds, minus a £5 admin fee (per ticket), will be offered, upon request, to anyone cancelling for any reason up to six working days before an event.  After this time, no refunds are available. The Livery Committee is the Society’s members’ social committee and is separate from the main Society Programme.  It operates outside of the governance of the Society, and uses a money-pooling system for all of its events.  Net receipts collected by the Society on their behalf are passed to the Livery Committee.
