Cost:  £30 Adults, £15 Children –  please email Helen Steel if you plan to bring any children.  Open to all – children aged 14 and over are welcome but younger children can come but please consider the venue and the duration of the tour

Livery Committee: Private Tour of the Royal Hospital Chelsea

The number of places is limited to 25 and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.  Please feel free to invite one or more guests.

Home to the famous Chelsea Pensioners, the private tour, led by one of the residents is an opportunity hear the history of the site and the Pensioners. The Royal Hospital Chelsea was established over 330 years ago, during the reign of King Charles II, to provide a home for soldiers ‘broken by age and war.’ In 1682, Sir Christopher Wren was commissioned by the King to design this sanctuary for veteran soldiers.  Lunch is not included but there is a café at the site.  There is another at the National Army Museum next door (free to visit) and many options on the nearby Kings Road.

Refunds, minus a £5 admin fee (per ticket), will be offered, upon request, to anyone cancelling for any reason up to six working days before an event.  After this time, no refunds are available.

The Livery Committee is the Society’s members’ social committee and is separate from the main Society Programme.  It operates outside of the governance of the Society, and uses a money-pooling system for all of its events.  Net receipts collected by the Society on their behalf are passed to the Livery Committee.
