Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve was the first example of a gravel pit site being developed for the purpose of nature conservation. The 73-hectare reserve is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is home to a diverse range of plants, fungi, birds, and dragonflies and damselflies. The reserve has a visitor centre (and car-parking area) that has recently undergone a 15-month, £2.1 million refurbishment before re-opening in March 2026.

The Livery Committee is the Society’s members’ social committee and is separate from the main Society Programme. It operates outside of the governance of the Society, and uses a money-pooling system for all of its events. Net receipts collected by the Society on their behalf are passed to the Livery Committee.
