Open House 2019

The Society opened its doors for a family friendly weekend on Sunday, 22nd September for ‘Open House Weekend’. The Master and Beadle greeted everyone in the Courtyard and a host of volunteers scattered around the building offered gems of knowledge about the history of rooms, paintings and treasures.

Thank you to all our volunteers who met 1,426 people.

Testimonials:

My wife and I visited on Sunday, and had a really enjoyable time learning about the Society, looking at the rooms and treasures, and talking to the various members of the society who shared some of their knowledge with us.

The thing that really stood out was the friendliness and kindness of the members, who were extremely knowledgeable, and went out of their way to find out anything they were not sure about.  From Prof. Farthing, who greeted us at the entrance, to all the other members that we talked to on our way around, everyone was so welcoming.

Thank you for opening your beautiful and historic building to the public and making our visit so memorable.

Thank you, I thought you were the best visit.

Thank you for coming in on a Sunday.
