Visit to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst
The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, founded in 1812 is regarded as one of the most successful and prestigious military academies in the World. It has been responsible for the training of many of our foremost military leaders in addition to many foreign military leaders and heads of state, some inevitably more palatable than others.
Immerse yourself in the history of this unique establishment, recognisable around the world, where officer training has continued unbroken since 1812. Stand in rooms where many statesmen and rulers have trained including our future King, HRH Prince of Wales, Winston Churchill and the current King Abdullah II of Jordan. Learn about key military figures whose names adorn the prestige rooms in Old College including the Duke of Wellington and the 1st Duke of Marlborough.
The tour starts with tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival and includes visits to the main prestige rooms of Old College including the Indian Army Memorial Room, Wellington Room, History Room, and the Old College Grand Entrance. Also included are the two chapels on site -The Royal Memorial Chapel and Roman Catholic Chapel. The tour will last about 2.5 hours.
The visit will start at 10 o’clock from the Old Building Square and you should arrive at the Main Gates, on London Road, Camberly at 09:30 to allow time to clear security and drive to the meeting point. Guests must bring photographic ID with them on the day.
