‘The Ethics and Philosophy faculty warmly invite you to join us for our annual Student and Fellows Symposium on Saturday 16 May, 10:00-15:30 BST @ Apothecaries’ Hall – which this year will explore the theme of ‘Disruptions within Bioethics’.

We would love to have you in the room, but you are just as welcome to join us online via Zoom – please email Matt to request the Zoom link (AcademicTraining@apothecaries.org)

Chaired by Philosophy fellows’ Convenor, Dr Andrew Papanikitas, this course day will include a talk from Professor David Jones followed by a roundtable discussion, reflecting on genetics, automation and AI, and the changing times and beliefs in relation to medicine. We actively encourage participants to share their ideas, thoughts and questions.

In the afternoon we will hold the Selwyn Lecture semi-final, where 5 DPMSA candidates will perform their test-lecture assessment, about any area of medical ethics or philosophy they wish. Your support is greatly appreciated if you are able to join us. The best lecturer will be awarded the chance to give their talk in full at the Hall in November 2026.
