The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries Livery Committee have obtained early access to a limited number of the best tickets at the Old Bailey fundraising show.
Apothecaries may recall that we visited the Old Bailey in June 2023, where we were hosted by Sheriff Alistair King, who mentioned the fundraising show put on at the Old Bailey.
This play is put on each year, and Proceeds are shared between
- The Sheriffs’ & Recorder’s Fund – helping Prison Leavers,
- Pan Intercultural Arts, – helping the vulnerable, using Arts for Social Change
- The Schools Consent Project, – Lawyers teaching the legal definition of Consent in Schools to reduce offending rates.
This year the show is entitled State Trials and Error and is devised by His Honour Peter Rook KC (Red Lion Chambers) and directed by Ellis Sareen (Foundry Chambers), with Musical Direction from Sir Andrew Parmley (formerly Lord Mayor of City of London), and featuring a star-studded cast from The Bar, Judiciary & the City.
You will know the Old Bailey as probably the most famous Court in the land, and arguably the World. To see it as a theatre, with the action performed by those who work there in a more serious capacity, is a real privilege and a unique opportunity.
Tickets for the shows normally sell out rapidly and go on general sale on the 21st January. Demand is sure to be high. Please book early.
The cost will be £110. This will ensure a seat in either the Jury Box or the Dock. These are the premium seats and will give you the best view of the performance.
We have organised seats for Monday 18th and Wednesday 20th March. This avoids other events happening at Apothecaries Hall.
Please note that Livery Committee events should now be booked in via the “members area” on the Society website. NB: A small number of our events will need to be booked direct with the organiser but will be listed in the “members area” with instructions on whom to contact.
