Sir Edward Elgar – a Medical Enigma

Event Details

Edward Elgar has been labelled as a hypochondriac, a depressive, or just plain moody. Dr John Harcup worked in Malvern where Elgar lived for 13 years and became fascinated by the man and his music. From diaries, letters and biographies John has put together the medical history of this famous composer and exposed the medical blunders that blighted his life. The talk is illustrated by images and Elgar’s music.
