monster – in Leeds

Event Details

Giles Walker is a British artist who makes scrap material into robotic works of art which hold a mirror up to society.  His work has been shown at the V&A and the Science Museum, London, in Europe and the USA.

monster, his latest work, was shown to great acclaim in London in 2020, but time-limited due to COVID.

The Leeds showing provides a rare chance to walk through and experience this enormous, challenging, and thought-provoking installation.  This will be a unique event, an exclusive viewing with the opportunity to hear more from Giles about over drinks and dinner.

After an overnight stay in a city centre hotel we will make a morning visit to Leeds Art Gallery and adjacent Henry Moore Institute.

The monster exhibition (including donation, drinks, transport to and from hotel) and three course dinner with wine will cost £85 per person.  You will need to make your own travel and accommodation arrangements giving you the opportunity to extend your stay to enjoy more of what Leeds city centre has to offer.

Numbers are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  The deadline for bookings is Wednesday 5 January 2022.
