Visit to Westminster Abbey, with privileged access to areas not normally open to the public, and the possibility of staying for a sung evensong

The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries Livery Committee has obtained a privileged access to some parts of Westminster Abbey not normally open to the public.

This is a tour arranged specially for us by the Abbey and will take us to parts of huge historical significance. In recognition of our role as a Medical organisation, we will be going to the Nightingale Chapel (the Nurses Chapel) as well as the Jericho and Jerusalem Chambers, where Henry IV died, and Henry V took over, and which are normally reserved for important Church meetings. We will also be visiting the garden, and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries which contain historic artefacts and allow a spectacular view! We will be guided by a guide who has an impressive knowledge of historical significance of the Abbey and the places we will be visiting.
The tour will finish at about 4 o’clock, and we will then have an opportunity to have a comfort break, before taking our seats for evensong, if that’s what you want to do.

This is a very special opportunity as these are areas rarely open to the public. Demand is sure to be high. Please book soon….

Refunds, minus a £5 admin fee (per ticket), will be offered, upon request, to anyone cancelling for any reason up to six working days before an event.  After this time, no refunds are available.

The Livery Committee is the Society’s members’ social committee and is separate from the main Society Programme.  It operates outside of the governance of the Society, and uses a money-pooling system for all of its events.  Net receipts collected by the Society on their behalf are passed to the Livery Committee.
