Speaker: Amy Hare

Amy Hare is a Senior Lecturer in Contextual Studies at the Royal School of Needlework, The Shanghai Institute of Visual Art and University of the Arts London. Currently researching for a PhD at Kingston School of Art exploring the relationship between costume, craft and performance in the 20th century, Amy began her career exploring the history of dress in a practical way, as a costume maker, specialising in historical costume for stage and screen. After a post-graduate degree in the History of Design at Oxford, Amy began work as a Costume lecturer and consultant. She is now in demand as a public speaker and also enjoys a global audience with her series of online collections talks for the RSN. Amy is passionate about object-based study and working with collections to uncovered previously hidden aspects of past lives.
