Friends of the Archives
 
Set up in 2004, this thriving group of members from the Society and its faculties encourages members of the general public to join with them in helping raise funds for the conservation of the material in the archives that has suffered the ravages of time and adverse conditions. It also helps with the purchase of relevant acquisitions as necessary. Membership costs just £10 a year and Friends receive regular newsletters and access to the events held for them in the Hall and elsewhere. Other opportunities are sometimes available to those with specialist knowledge or skills.
